Tombstone Inscriptions Located In BYRD CEMETERY.
Located on Camp Rucker Reservation six miles from Main Gate nearest Ozark.
Turn right at Main Gate toward the Lake, go to Gate 54 but turn right
before entering,also turn right before entering Gate 55 on left of road
that goes by Negro beach.

Two bases for headstones were found with stones missing.Mrs. A.D. Matthews
said these stones were there when she visited the cemetery a few years ago.
She has inscriptions from them.
Following Inscriptions were given to me by Mrs. A.D. Matthews about
August 1,1950.She said before Camp Rucker was established these were in the
Byrd Cemetery listed above.

These inscriptions were made by Mr. E.H. Hayes in the late 1940s
to early 1950s.I have tried to copy them as accurately as possible.
PS The four individuals directly above were reburied in Pleasant Hill
