Biography:
 
Glendon has lived all his life in Dardanelle, most of it on Quay St.  When very young he loved to earn his own money by raking leaves, mowing grass, and shining shoes in a barber shop.  he attended Dardanelle schools.  he has attended the First Assembly of God Church all of his life.  Serves as an usher.  In 1948 he joined the Arkansas National Guards Company 153rd Infantry and served for three years.  At age eighteen he married on 17th Jan. 1948, in the First Assembly of God Church Parsonage in Dadanelle, by Rev. Oral L. Bost, to Erma Lee Judkins, b. 3 Dec. 1931,, Pottsville, Pope Co. AR, daughter of Roy Walter & Bessie Sue (Gray) Judkins.   At age eighteen he went to work at a saw mill, Nebo Lumber Company, where he worked for twenty years.  For the past 26 years he has been a truck driver for Darling Inc. a Rendering Company, of Russellville, AR. In 1950 his parents bought a lot next to them at 515 Quay St. where they built their first home.  At the age of 30 Erma Lee went to Morrilton Beauty College.  In Feb. 1962 built her business behind their home and called it "MASTERS HAIR FASHIONS'  In 1963 they built another home at 409 Quay St. and moved the business where the new home was. In 1970 they built a larger business at 506 Quay St. it employed 6 operators. Sold it in 1986 went back to small business, and am ready to retire. Erma's hobbies is family research , Glendon's is collecting pistols, guns, cowboy boots, jewelry, and pretty cloths.  He likes to hunt, boat ride and at age 50 bought a Hondamatic motor cycle.  He joined a club for people over forty years of age called " Retreads"  To old to ride now.  wrote May 1998
