"He was thought to run as well as his sire, Bold Venture. But it was discovered that he was a Thoroughbred who ran like a Quarter Horse. Depth Charge was retired after earning nearly $75,000 (most of it in Mexico). Depth Charge ran in Mexico City, because World War II temporarily halted racing in the US."
