- He served in the War Between the States. Military records in AL Dept. of Archives show that G.W. Tucker died in prison at Elmira, NY in Dec 1864.
- His widow, Mildred M. Tucker, is shown on pension application to have been born in Montgomery County, AL on 24 Dec 1831 and that they were married on 10 Dec 1849.
- Family shown in 1860 Census of Lowndes Co., AL, So. Div. Mt. Willing, AL.
- Family shown in 1870 Census of Crenshaw Co., AL.

He was married to Mildred Margaret BRADLEY (daughter of John Durham BRADLEY and Margaret Telitha GARDNER) on 10 Dec 1849. Mildred Margaret BRADLEY was born on 24 Dec 1831 in Montgomery Co., Alab. She died on 9 Aug 1919 in Crenshaw Co., Al.. George Washington (Jeff) TUCKER and Mildred Margaret BRADLEY had the following children:
