My Share of ESH in Al-Anon

She had a gift to give.

Something as precious as life it's self.

It was wraped in her trust

With a ribbon of her pure intentions

and a bow made from her precious love.

She took it from a place

Deep within the depths of her soul.

Paid for with her true being.

He accepted her gift

with open arms.

Not knowing

exactly how precious

the gift, he had recieved.

As time went on....

He placed this priceless

and precious gift.

Upon a shelf of indecision.

To be covered with the dust of insincerity

And the webs of decete

Now muffeling the sounds

of the sweet sweet music from his ears.

That it still clearly sang.

The light that once shined clearly to him

from this precious gift

that she gave so freely to him.

Had grown dark.

as black as the moonless midnight to him.

By the blindfold of his own self indulgence.

Shadowed by his selfishness.

Until one day.

the gift was broken.

at his own cruel hand.

As gave it back to her.

Broken and torn beyond full repair.

The tears burned her cheek

Her trust, Her soul, Her being.

She wondered

if it would ever truely mend.

But she knew deep within.

That it could not be.

The damage was done.

The damage was permanant.

Until one day.

An angel appeared.

asking for nothing.

But with something to give.

The angel softly whispered into her ear.

"Don't worry sweet one."

Time will heal...Time will heal...

The angel wrapped it's wings around her.

She felt the warmth

That she thought she'd never feel again

The angel assured her

That the gift that she had given

That was so cruely returned

Though may always be scarred.

Would one day be whole again.

She looked

into the caring and loving eyes of the angel

And finally felt the healing begin.

She stood there

Wrapped in the warmth

of the angels love and hope.

The angel took the gift she once gave

from her hand

...It was her heart...........

And placed it gently back within her.

Then took her soft trembling hand

And placed it on her chest.

She felt it beating once again.

A tear rolled down her sweet face.

Not of sorrow....But of joy this time.

And for the first time since she had given the gift......

An eternity ago...

Once again......

Her heart smiled
