Pinkerton Trivia Page - Pinkerton Figures

There is a whole series of Pinkerton characters made of Chaulkware. They stand about 11" tall and are quite heavy. They are corporate gifts for Pinkerton clients and are given out every December.

Apparently the ones 1992 and after have glass eyes. The ones before 1992 are handpainted in their entirety.

Matthew Sparks on his webpage at http://www.oocities.org/maltedfalcon/index.html writes: Every year Pinkerton commissions two different statues to be given to clients and friends and staff. One statue is for the Security Division and one is for the Investigations Division. The Security statue usually has a keystone type cop figure, the Investigations statue usually has a Sherlock Holmes type figure. Some years only one statue is commissioned but it usually has both figures.

1988 This figure is titled 'Partners'. It is of a policeman and a Pinkerton Detective. On the front it is marked "PARTNERS". On the back it is marked "c CPP/PINKERTON 1988". California Plant Protection purchased Pinkertons.
1989 This figure is of a policeman with a billy club and an open manhole cover. It is marked "c PINKERTON'S INC. 1989".
1990 This figure is of security guard with a fire extinguisher. He is wearing a dark blue uniform with gold buttons and a gold star on his chest. His shoes are black and he is wearing a tan coloured hat. He has brown hair, eyebrows and a handlebar moustache. It is marked "c PINKERTON'S INC. 1990".
1991 This figure is of security guard sitting drinking coffee at a computer terminal. It is marked on the front "PINKERTON SECURITY SERVICES". On the bottom, it is inscribed "20K Pinkertons Inc. 1991". There could be two different figures this year.
1992 This figure is of a detective hiding behind a wall with a video camera. It is marked on the front "PINKERTON INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES" and on the left side of the base it is marked "21d PINKERTON INC. c 92".
1992 It appears that there were at least two figures made in 1992. This figure is of a policeman with a billy club standing behind a globe. It is marked on the front "PINKERTON SECURITY SERVICES" and on the side "21K PINKERTON'S INC. c'92".
1993 This figure is of two characters with a building. One has a flashlight and the other a magnifying glass. It is marked on the front "PINKERTON SECURITY & INVESTIGATION SERVICES. Inscribed on the back at the bottom is "22 Pinkerton's Inc. c 1993".
1994
1995 This figure is of a policeman standing with his finger on a keypad. There is a security camera in the background. It is marked on the front "PINKERTON SECURITY SERVICES" and on the side "c PINKERTON'S, INC. 1995". There could be two different figures this year.
1996 This figure is of an officer and a detective with a chart in the background. The theme is "Continuous Improvement Client Service". It is marked on the front "PINKERTON".
1997 This is the 26th edition of the Pinkerton Figurine. This figure is of an an officer and a detective with a globe on a table. Around the globe is a band that reads "WORLD CLASS GLOBAL SECURITY SERVICE". It is marked on the front "PINKERTON".
1998 This is the 27th edition of the Pinkerton Figurine. This figure is of a Pinkerton Security office and the Keystone Kop standing in front of a chart reading "PINKERTON VALUES". It is marked on the front "PINKERTON".
1999 This figure is of a Pinkerton Security office and the Keystone Kop. It was issued in commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Pinkerton Security and is the last time the Keystone Kop will appear. It is marked on the front "PINKERTON".
