Koi Need to Breath
too!
Koi will do much better, grow
faster, and are just generally better off if you provide them with a
high oxygen level in the water.
In order to do this I am
installing a Alita air pump and a 12" diameter air diffuser directly
over my bottom drain. An extra advantage to having a column of air
located over the bottom drain is that the increased water circulation
will draw debris across the bottom of the pond and into the drain.
This results in the bottom of the pond staying clean all the time!
Koi really do better in a clean pond and the air pump does all the
work!
