THE GRIND STONE. . .
may hurt, but it polishes us into precious jewels for the Saviour's crown.

WHAT FOOLS ARE MEN
SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS
GIVE GOD A CHANCE
WHAT TROUBLE WE DO CAUSE OURSELVES
How God must sorrow o'er mankind,
Those beings He made to only bless.
If we could see and were not blind.
Oh, how we need to learn to trust.
What trouble we do cause ourselves,
We wander far from Jesus side.
He only wants the best for us.
We wallow in our sin and pride.
Rebellion is in the hearts of men.
We strain and stress and kick like mules.
God wants to us to return to Him,
And yet we often act like fools.
Our messy lives would straighten out,
Our future would be full of light.
We need to take His chosen route,
And always keep Him in our sight.
This world offers nothing grand.
No treasures will scare death away.
This life will leave us ropes of sand,
And remind us we are made of clay.
If you are one who's made a fall,
Perhaps believe you're too far gone,
Listen, closely, for His call.
He misses you, beloved one.
God wants you back within His fold.
He grieves and waits with longing heart.
He'll make you as the finest gold.
His grace, again, He will impart.
His love will reach the worst in us,
And cleanse us from the stain of sin.
He frees us from our selfishness,
And takes away the pain within.
God writes His law within our hearts.
The love He gives is all divine.
We'll spread around what He imparts.
From our lives His light will shine.
Soon He comes, from heaven above,
To end the earth's long reign of woe.
We'll spend our days with Him we love.
Our joy and peace will overflow.

Kingdoms go and come in this world of men
Who know not what lie ahead for them
They prophesy in vain
Wrong as often as they're right
Foolish men who count on their own minds
To tell them wrong from right
Guided by themselves or those who lead
With no more sense than they
To count on self and put their trust
In fools who know one tenth of what they should
No wonder men are still at war
It's hard to trust the closest friend at times
Those who try so often seek what's best
For them alone
Their fumbling hearts guide them wrong
And trap the best of men
The only way out of egoism's traps
Is to find the One who made us
And knows our every move
Wisdom comes from Him and love
Is the foundation of His throne
Though men be fools because of wanderings
From Him who understand it all
He's longing for our return to Him
To seek answers where none will go astray
The God who made us knows our deepest thought
We can trust Him where men will fail
And lead us to some wilderness of no return
He guides the way to where you'd want to go
If you only knew for sure what lie ahead
To know God well and to know His Son
Is to know the future's blessed forever more

Some are self righteous we have to admit
But not all those called Christians will the category fit
If we think we are perfect we certainly are wrong
We may just as well join the rest of the throng
Yet Christ came to save sinners and this we all are
The difference is simple quite simple by far
Those who acknowledge they need complete shift
Will accept the great Healer and let Him uplift
We're in the same boat we all have our needs
A garden is present but all full of weeds
Let the heavenly Gardener get a chance at our mess
And then He is able to eternally bless
His church is a place where sick people go
To get rid of their problems and sickness and woe
Those who believe they can h eal themselves
Are bound to continue in very poor health
The self righteous ones are apt to exist
With the agnostic infidel and atheist
They depend on self for self is their god
After a few years they end up in sod
So brother or sister in the human race
Let us be careful whose image we trace
If we follow our Maker His love we'll defend
His righteousness is what counts in the end

Oh, if those who have no hope,
And find their lives amiss,
Would only look to a loving God
Who yearns to give such bliss.
These words are tame too often heard,
One may not see their worth.
Hypocrites they say are wrong,
Though they may go to church.
God's love is but a healing place
For all who care to enter,
Though many may go in and out,
If Christ is not their center.
We're all diseased from head to toe,
With no lasting peace of mind,
Unless we learn our Christ to know.
In Him our life we'll find.
Idle words these seem to some,
They brush them off like tears.
But please don't let them roll off you,
For He'll take away your fears.
The Saviour has a heart of love
That takes in everyone.
He's knocks each day at your heart's door,
Until probation's gone.
Don't put Him off, the night will come,
The day of hope will leave.
Give Him your heart while there's still time,
Or your loss He'll surely grieve.
No delusion's here, give God a chance.
He really wants to save you.
The life He offers, so full of love,
With His death this life He gave you.
