ONE~~~~~
THE ONE WHO KNOWS
ONE IN MIND AND HEART
ONE STEP

THE ONE WHO KNOWS
Sometimes it's hard to know the path to take
When we're perplexed or sad or feel all alone.
The soul is loath to trust another human being,
Who may be wrong or right in what they think.
How can we know they have the best for us?
And yet God could use the worst to bring us
What we need from the storehouse of His word,
If we listen and be ever sensitive
To His Spirit speaking in the soul.
Those who drive us to distress
Send us to our closets and our knees,
To seek the Lord for answers
To the problems they created for us,
Though they may not wish to cause us pain.
God teaches us to forgive those who know not
What they do to harm.
And even those who care less for our souls.
If then we leave ourselves in the hands
Of the One who knows us best of all,
Soon peace will fill our souls.
And if we're wrong He tells us what to do
To make us right again with other human beings.
His love will flow from us to them.
Seek answers from the One who knows
The hearts of human beings.

ONE IN MIND AND HEART
If we could read our brother's mind,
Would we discover a closeness to him?
Or can it be we'd dislike what we find
And want to forget he is our brother?
Close to another we all long to be,
A deep understanding between us.
Yet, what stops this union of hearts?
Could it be our own selfishness?
What would happen if we forgot self
In our continual giving to others?
If every man lived to please God,
And to serve his sisters and brothers?
And then we're handed the gift to read mind,
To know the thoughts of another,
I wonder then if we would find
A wonderful oneness together?

ONE STEP
Stop trying to deal with problems
In your own lame strength.
It's fruitless to work your own way,
And it's foolish to worry and fret
Over what happens beyond your control.
Give yourself a break and let God lead
Down the path He wants you to go.
If you're His and you give every moment
Into His hands, the way is clear,
Just a step at a time, no more.
So, it may seem like a mountain.
With God as your guide,
The light He provides
Will make the way bright enough
To encourage the most despairing soul.
