"Have Thine Own Way"
Faded Memories

You brought back
Each faded memory.
You put a smile in my eyes
For all the world to see.
You brought me love
And told me not to cry.

Your heart was so far from me.
Love wasn't on your mind.
The only thing you seemed to want
Was the friend in me.

You wiped my tear-stained eyes
And told me not to cry.
The world seemed to revole around
A so-called love of mine.
You gave me hope
When hope was lost
And then you dashed my dreams.
You said I was not for you
And you broke my heart again.
I tried my best to love you
Only as a friend.
And yet the feelings you envoked
Were so unknown by you.
You encouraged me to look
And find love ever-lasting
And, yet, for your love
Was all that I was asking

So now I go along
and try to restore
All that has been torn down
By one unknown man.
