I Am Spring

My heart is sad I feel not spring

And dwell on thoughts

Remembering,

The agonies and pains Of past experiences

With too few joys

and loving interferences

And all around me Spring has sprung

With thrusting power The renewed young

Of tree and flower and leaf and bird

Surround me with their yearly urge

Unwilling though I want to be

I have no choice Nature forces me

To see with her  Sweet voice

That I am part

Of this great tapestry

Of life and must accept

My place and forward grow

And one day lift my face And sing,

"I am Spring!"
