Baby Food
(from Company's Coming
- Preserves, pg. 10)
It is very easy to make your own baby food. Using a blender or food processor is helpful for making a smooth puree. If not, food must be rubbed through a seive. Sugar, salt or other spices are not added. Each cube is equivalent to about a 2 tbsp. (30 mL) serving. After thawing, add a bit of water or milk, if needed, to make desired consistency. Steaming food in a stainless stell vegetable steamer in your saucepan will retain optimum nutrients. Vegetable steamers flair out to fit a medium to fairly large saucepan.
