ROBERT D. FRITTS TO JOHN MAYTON This indenture made this 10th day of July 1847 between Robt D Fritts of the one part and John Metton [Mayton] of the other part both of the county of Roane and state of Tennessee Witnesseth the said Robt D Fritts for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold serveyed and senformed? unto the said John Metton his heirs and asigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land in Roane County in the 15th Civil District on the Copper Ridge bounded as follows. Beginning on a Chemut in a rust line of Issiah Montgomerys tract thence a south rust course to a White Oak thence a south east xourse with a conditional line made in presence of John Fritts to a hickory thence Eastwardly to a chemut thence North Eastwardly to a Red Oak in a corner of said Montgomerys tract thence with his line next to a Black Gum thence a direct line to the Beginning containing 25 acres more or less which tract of land together with the hereditments and appertances thereunto belonging or in any wise appentaining unto the said John Metton his heirs and assigns forever ? the said Robt D Fritts his heirs and assigns will namant? and forever defend in Witness whereof the said Robert D Fritts hereunto sets his hand and seal the date above written. JOHN W. MAYTON TO MARY WILLIAMS This Indenture made and entered into this the first day of September Eighteen hundred and sixty eight. Between John W Mayton of the county of Roane and State of Tennessee of the one part & Mary Williams of the county & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John W Mayton for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by there presents tactin bargin sue and convey unto the said Mary Williams her heirs & assignes a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Roane in the 3rd District on the East of Bradberries Ridge containing 25 acres. Bounded as follows: Beginning on a Post Oak in James Eblins line near the Buttermilk Road thence with the road near the top of the 1st hill to a black oak thence a direct line to a white oak in the head of hollow on the side of the ridge thence a direct line to the top of the ridge thence with the main top of the ridge to the corner of James C Eblens tract thence down the ridge into said Eblens line to the beginning together with the heresitaments and appertances unto the said Mary Williams from the said John W Mayton his heirs assigns will warrant & forever defend him & His heirs.
