Snodgrass of Washington County and state of Virginia being weak in body and calling to
mind the mortality of the same, but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and
publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, to wit, first I
direct that after my decease my body be decently buried at the discretion of my executor
herein after named, and out of my personal estate, all my just debts and funeral charges
be paid, secondly I bequeath to my wife Elizabeth my negro woman Bess my negro girl Mas
and Ann a child of two years old, one horse, all my stock of cattle, eight sheep, fourteen
hogs all my farming utensils all my household and kitchen furniture to the whole and sole
use of her forever. I also will and direct that my wife enjoy the use of my plantation to
be under her control and at her own disposal during her life, and after her decease I will
and direrct that David S Hathorn and his heirs enjoy my plantation forever. I bequeath to
