aleb⁴ Landers (Ebenezer³, Thomas^2-1), born 13 Nov. 1750, died at Stephentown, New York, 16 June 1825 "ae. 74" (The Register, 73:212, July 1919). The date of death fits well with the known birth date of this Caleb Landers; there was no other man of that name we could discover. Furthermore, our suggestion that the Ebenezer Landers who lived at Renesselaerville in the same county may strengthen this hypothesis, as they would have been half brothers.

He married first, perhaps about 1777, Hannah -----, born about 1757, died at Stephentown, Albany Co., N.Y., 7 Nov. 1809 "wife of Caleb, ae. 52" (ibid.).

He married, secondly, perhaps about 1810 Lydia -----, born about 1772, died at Stephentown 31 Jan. 1853 "ae 81" (ibid.).

Considerable research is needed here. It is a fact that the name Caleb Landers is unique in this family group. We note that a Caleb Landers was admitted 14 May 1815 to the Lenox, Mass., church where his half brother Thomas⁴ Landers was a member.
