Samuel was known as "the wrestler". He lived on his grandfather Ezra’s homestead, and was likely the first to support the "Tory’s" in this branch. He was imprisoned in Sandwich, but fled to the British troops in Rhode Island. The families of Samuel, Thomas and Silas all moved to Shelburne, N.S. in 1783. He had served in the British Navy during the Revolution, and was granted 375 A at Cape Negro, near Shelbourne (he arrived with the Port Roseway Associates). [PERRY.TXT, Kindred Konnections-Bumpus]
