A LITTLE BACKGROUND

Greg & I have been married almost 13 years.  We've been through a lot during that time.  We've had many happy experiences over the years but we've also had our share of hard times.  In 1988 we delivered identical twin boys, Ryan & Taylor at 23 weeks.  They were so tiny and fought hard to live but they were just too small, they only lived about 9 hours.
We attended a support group after our loss which really helped us a great deal.  If you haven't lost a child it's hard to understand the intense feelings that come with it.
When our triplets were born it but a tremendous strain on our family, not just between Greg and I but also on our daughter Shelby who was 4 when they were born.  Having higher order multiples can be a true test on a family and marriage.  Joining a support group for families of triplets or more helped me a lot both during my pregnancy and after the birth.  There's so much to deal with when you have 3 or more babies fighting for their lives, It's so helpful to talk to someone who's been through it and survived.  Our daughter Emma developed an intestinal infection at 6 days old that almost took her life.  She only weighted 1 # 13 oz when she had to have surgery.  Thankfully she made it through that surgery and 2 others and is healthy and happy now.
If anyone else has experienced anything similar to what we have and would like to share stories or you need a shoulder from someone who understands, please feel free to e-mail me.  I know how much it helped us to have someone to talk to who understood and I'd like to give something back and be of support now.
