Elizabeth's "Puter" Page

Just after I turned two in January 1998, I was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. I had surgery February 2 (12 hours long)and finished chemotherapy 14 months later in April, 1999. Everything had been going great. October 12 I had an MRI that showed a small recurrence of the cancer, so we started in on another long haul. I finished up six weeks of radiation right before Christmas. This was pretty tough... I had to lie face down and stay very still every day. But I did it!!! Chemo medicine wasn't so easy, but I did pretty well with it. When I don't bring along my own hat, a friend or relative is always happy to loan one out. Sometimes I just put a lace doily on my head and pose. I have so many hats now, I can hardly choose. Philip likes the ones with ribbons from the Happy Hats people.

The Miracle Kids I just joined a website dedicated to kids with cancer called "The Miracle Kids." Visit me and other little ones there - it was put together in honor of Samantha, the author's granddaughter.



Medical Stuff

My Medicines I had to take a lot of medicines when I had cancer, some are candy medicines, some juice medicines, some IV medicines, and some shots. I got a lot of it at home, and some of it in the hospital. I am very good at taking them when and only when I'm told to. Update - February 7, 2000


The chicken pox from our last update was nothing!
This last MRI, on January 21 showed no growth of the cancer and no metasteses either! We wait again, for three months, before the next one, with interval meetings with radiation oncology, endocrine, and neuro (oops, also audiology and ophthalmology). The best resource, of course, THE LORD.....PLEASE PRAY !!!

Childhood Cancer Awareness Quilt
This is the quilt square my mom made for the Childhood Cancer Awareness Quilt. The quilt was displayed at the March in DC in September, 1998 and traveled around the country. Mommy had big plans for this one, but somehow didn't get around to doing anything.
