Rymut’s
Volumes Online: This is a great
site, it is an alphabetical listing of Polish surnames & their
frequency in 1990. To use: click on “Slownika Nazwisk Wspolczesnie
w Polsce Uzywanych,” enter the surname in the box (note, diatrical marks
are necessary, so just cut & paste the Polish letters as needed from
the website), hit enter or click “szukaj” to search. You can enter the whole name, or just
the first few letters. The results
page will list the surname, the frequency for the entire country, and then
the breakdown for each province. If
you click on “tutaj sznajduja sie objasnienie skrotkow” a pop up window
will open to give the full name of the province for each of the two letter
codes on the results page.
