Other Information. During my employment with the Phoenicia Hotel and
especially since the computerisation of the Accounts
Department as well as the Reservations and Front Office
Departments, I have gained a vast experience of various
Operating Systems. (IMOS, UNIX, DOS, WINDOWS). I have
also a very good knowledge of Cobol Programming as well
as a basic knowledge of Foxpro. I am also very familiar
with Novell Netware Version 3.12.
I was also responsible for the computerisation of the
Hotel Imperial and the Phoenicia Laundry including the
training of staff in using the various software modules.
These last two companies formed part of the Forte Hotels
in Malta.
I have also a very good working knowledge of various
Software Packages including Lotus 123, Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft Access, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publishing.
I am also qualified to support the MICROS Point of Sale
System which is installed in various hotels in Malta.
On a part time basis and on behalf of Philip Toledo
Limited, one of the biggest computer software and hardware
companies on the island, I have also taken care of the
computerisations at Hotel Milano Due, the Plaza Group of
Hotels, Alexandra Palace Hotel and part of the computer
software at the Comino Hotel. This included the traiing
of the necessary staff in using the various software
modules as well as the modification of the software
according to special requisites of the various sites.
In all of the above mentioned hotels the software modules
included a Front Office Reservations and Guest Billing,
Debtors Ledger, Creditors Ledger, Nominal Ledger,
Food & Beverage Stock and Costing as well as a Fixed
Assets and Depreciation module.
I have also attended various courses such as
Train the Trainer, Introduction to Informix and SQL.
