ASSELIN FAMILY

First account of the Asselin line is in Rouen, France, where Jacques married Cecile Olivier.
They had children:

  1. David who married 1st Catherine Boudard on 28 Aug 1655 in LePollet and 2nd Marie Houdan on 20 Apr 1670 at St. Jacques.
  2. Jacques who married Louise Roussin on 29 Jul 1662 at Chateau Richer, Quebec.
  3. Noelle who married Pierre Durand
  4. Guillaume
Jacques and Noelle are both direct line ancestors.

Jacques and Louise had the following children - the first two born in Chateau Richer and the rest at Ste Famille:
  1. Jacques born 1663 married Marie Morisset.
  2. Nicolas born 1665 married 1st Marguerite Gagnon and 2nd Renee Turcot.
  3. Marie Madeleine born 1667 and possibly died young.
  4. Pierre born 1669 and married Elizabeth Jahan.
  5. Thomas born 1671 married Genevieve Leclerc.
  6. Marie Madeleine born 1673. She became Sister Saint-Ignace.
  7. Louise born 1675 and married Jacques Pichet.
  8. Michel born 1677 married Anne Gagnon.
  9. Marie born 1679 married Guillaume Baucher.
  10. Francoise born 1682 became Sister Sainte-Therese.
  11. Anne died young
  12. Jean died young

Noelle and her husband, Pierre Durand, did not move to Quebec. Their daughter, Francoise, became a Fille du Roi and married Jacques Beaudoin on 24 Mar 1671 at Ile d'Orleans, Quebec.

Francoise is one of seven of my Fille du Roi ancestors. I have a complete list of all of the ladies that became The King's Daughters. Would be glad to look up a name for anyone.
