KANE FAMILY

Would like to correspond with anyone knowing anything about the Kane family: Related names - Brophy, Kenney, McCauley, McGinnis, Reilly, Schultz

The first known Kane in our family was Michael Kane born in Ireland about 1814.
Believe he immigrated to the United States about 1847. He arrived in the port of New Orleans.
He was in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a few years and then moved on to Wisconsin.
Believe he and a first wife (name unknown) had these children born in Ireland:

1. Mary born about 1841 in Ireland
2. John born about 1842 in Ireland
3. Ann born about 1846 in Ireland
   
   He and second wife, Bridget Kenney, had the following children:
   
   1. Thomas born 1851 in Cincinnati, Ohio married Jane Reilly in 1876 in Oconomowoc, Waukesha Co, WI
   2. Martin born about 1855 in Ohio
   3. Michael Jr. born 22 Jul 1858 in Ashippun, Dodge Co, Wisconsin married Margaret McGinnis in 1880 in Oconomowoc, Waukesha Co, WI
      
      
   Michael Sr. and third wife, Margaret McCauley, had the following children:
   
   1. Mary Ann born 1864 in Jefferson County, WI, married Henry Van Buskirk
   2. James born about 1866 in Wisconsin married Bridget Millea in Iowa
   3. Catherine born about 1868 in Wisconsin
   4. Bridgett born about 1870 in Wisconsin
   5. William born about 1872 in Wisconsin
   6. Julia born 1875 married John Aulsebrook
   7. Henry born about 1878, married and had son George
   8. Eugene born 30 Jun 1881 in Wisconsin married Bridget Jackman
   The Michael Kane Jr. and Margaret McGinnis family moved to Milwaukee about 1886 and most of that family remained there. They were members of the Church of the Gesu.
