MORIN FAMILY
I have two Morin lines in my family. Both were from France: one to Acadia and one to Quebec.
Acadian branch:
Pierre Morin born in Normandy about 1634 married Marie Martin in 1661 at Port Royal, Acadia.
There was an excellent article in French Canadian and Acadian Genealogical Review, Vol. I, #2, Summer 1968, on this family.
Pierre and Marie had children: Pierre, Louis, Antoine, Marie, Anne, Jacques, Charles, Marguerite,
Jean-Marie, Jacques-Francois, Simon Joseph, and Jacques.
My line continues with Pierre who married Francoise Chiasson in 1682.
Quebec branch:
Noel, son of Claude and Jeanne (Moreau) Morin was born abt 1609 at Brie-Comte-Robert, Seine-et-Marne, FR.
He married Helene Desportes, widow of Guillaume Hebert, 9 Jan 1640 at Quebec.
They had children: Agnes, Germain, Louise, Nicols, Jean Baptiste, Marguerite, Helene, Marie,
Alphonse, and Marie Madeleine.
Vol. XVI of Our French-Canadian Ancestors by Thomas J. Laforest is very helpful in learning about the background of this family.
Line continues with daughter Louise who married Charles Cloutier in 1659.
