Our
current top scorer and Chipster Extraordinaire,
Ruben's
total score as of 07/04/99 : 5,975,930
Hello
all Chip's Challenge addicts out there!
My name is Ruben
Spaans, I am 25 years old and I live in a small town in
Norway called Brønnøysund. I am single and unmarried.
In spite of a bad education, I got a decent paid job in a
company called "Dun & Bradstreet" where I
do various tasks - like registering corporation
information (accounts, shareholders and percentages,
members of the board) and some programming in Pascal and
Easytrieve. During the breaks I often play small
Windows-based games.
Minesweeper was already
conquered and I was in the middle of a long Jezzball game
(I played the same game for one month) when I checked out
some Jezzball pages on the internet, and found Alice's
Chip's Plus site. I thought that bringing Chip's
Challenge along to work was a good idea - the site had a
very good high score page, so my aims were set. Also, I
was already familiar with the game, having played it a
bit on my Commodore 64, and almost completed the windows
version back in the days the game still was quite new
(1992-93), but I never saved the "entpack.ini"
file. I started my Chip's session at work in November
1997 starting with 0 points. In January I got the first
Chip's Plus high score (level 146, 664 seconds-though
it's risen since then). *Today I have 5,975,930 points, and I'm still not done.
My next game at work will probably be Chip's Challenge 2.
Apart from two colleagues at work (one of them has
completed the game with a score of over 5,924,000, and
he's still playing. The other one has played to level
113, having completed every level on his way) all the
people around me thinks I'm nuts because I still play
Chip's, when everybody else is playing Doom, Quake etc.
(* Ruben's score as of
July 4th, 1999. It grows daily!)
- Most liked
levels: 146 (very
open level), 64 (very creative level)
- Most disliked
levels: 147 (spent
ages), 88 (had a very tough time trying to
complete the bugged version)
- Best
achievements: level
89 (375 seconds), level 22 (292 seconds), both
with a bit of good luck.

not
that we're counting or anything, but... . (Since 6-02-98) :)
