It is with great sadness that we report the loss of the oldest *Naborr daughter that we knew of to be living. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Dorann LaPerch, the owner of the lovely *Naborr daughter ZSA-ZSA NABORR for 18 years. We have just received the following painful note from her:

Monday, October 19, 1998

Dear Ruth,

I am sorry to report the loss of my precious *Naborr daughter Zsa-Zsa Naborr (*Naborr x Gay Gazi) foaled March 20, 1970.

Her heart medication that we were giving her daily was doing the job, so imagine my surprise to find her down colicking Friday morning. Due to her congestive heart failure, surgery was not an option. Everything was done medically for her to pull her through. She went into a crisis at around 6 PM and at 6:15 she was put to sleep.

I cannot adequately express the grief I am feeling; she had been with me 18-1/2 years. I remember the day my mom and dad bought her for me as my 17th birthday present. It had been a dream of mine to own a *Naborr daughter. So rarely in our lives does a dream come true.

I take some solace in the fact that the one daughter of hers that I still retain is in foal to AZH NABORR for 1999.

As an extra kick in the teeth, on Sunday morning my 28-1/2 year old Appaloosa stallion colicked with a twisted intestine and had to be put to sleep. The last few days are beyond description.
