Community Church welcomes everyone to our
beautiful and inspirational Sunday worship high above Hong Kong
at the top floor of the city's highest building, Central Plaza
in Wanchai. See our mission statement on the next

We are an international, interdenominational
and inclusive congregation. Our congregation is cosmopolitan
being about 60% Asian and 40% expatriate. The majority of our
regular worshipers are baptized Christians though we have a
large minority who are seekers and inquirers after a faith. We
value this mix and balance and all the diversity of persons
within the fellowship. We are committed to exploring,
developing and living our faith.
Our Sunday worship is innovative and
exciting, combining elements of traditional Christian liturgy
with other elements of spontaneity and informality. Our music
ministry calls upon hymns, praise songs, classical church
compositions, and sometimes secular pop songs. No one drops off
to sleep from llAM onward at the APEX. We run a 65 to 70 minute
liturgy and conclude our worship no later than l2:l5PM.
We're working together a nurturing and
caring community where God's love touches and changes
lives.
Our founding pastor, the Rev. Gene Preston,
was trained in two of North America's finest seminaries - Yale
Divinity School and Union Theological Seminary, NYC - as well
as New College, Edinburgh. Pastor Gene began a sabbatical year
in London this August. His last Sunday with us was August 6.
Our new pastor, the Rev. Scott Lawson, commenced on August l3.
We have a unique worship venue at the top
(The APEX) of Hong Kong's highest building, Central Plaza
Tower, on Harbour Road in Wanchai.There's easy public
transportation to this landmark building via MTR Wanchai (a 5
minute walk toward the new Convention Center), the many buses
that traverse Gloucester Rd in Wanchai, the Star Ferry to
Wanchai. There's also easy commercial parking in the building's
basement carpark.
From wherever you enter Central Plaza, go to
the main lobby (Floor 2) and follow the signs to the elevators.
Once you're in the building it takes about 5 minutes to ascend
so allow this extra time so you can arrive on time for divine
worship.
