Hi, my name is Cindy Williams. This website was built for my daughter, Kaitlyn. She is 4 years old, goes to preschool & is in her third year of dancing school. She is very active & very, very smart. Kaitlyn has blue eyes & beautiful long, blonde hair. She has two older brothers; Troy, 12 and Logan, almost 8.

She has always been a very healthy little girl until Friday, September 10, 1999. She started complaining of a headache so on Sunday, I brought her to the emergency room. The doctor said she was having a migraine & sent her home. I found this rather unusual for a 4 year old and on Wednesday, I brought her back to the ER. This doctor ordered a catscan of her head. This is when our entire life was turned upside down. Our angel had a brain tumor.

They admitted her immediately, called in the Neurosurgeon, and started her on steroids. This felt like the longest night of my life. I had all sorts of things running through my head. On Thursday morning, they were doing tests on her and then the doctor came to give us a better idea of what was going on. Our baby had a brain tumor the size of a plum on her brain stem. She was scheduled to go into surgery the following morning to remove it. So, on Friday, September 17, 1999 at 8:30 AM Kaitlyn went into surgery. All we could do then was pray, pray and cry.

On her way into surgery, her last words to her Daddy were "Daddy don't cry". She was so brave & is such a fighter. After over 7 long hours of surgery, our little angel came out looking as beautiful as before. (The above picture was taken right after she came out of the NICU) You would never have known she just had such a long, greuling surgery. She didn't have any swelling or anything.

The doctor came and talked to us. She had medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. They removed 95 - 99% of it. She starts chemo and radiation October 11 for 6 weeks. Then she gets a 6 week break and then begins 12 - 15 months of more treatments.

Kaitlyn came home on September 25 and rode her bike for a mile September 26. She is doing great so far. We are in for a long road ahead of us, but I believe she will be just fine.

Please keep us in your prayers and email us if you like.
