I'll be adding to this page often, so please check back to see what's new in the life of.........."The Landlord".........
The first story that stands out in my mind, even after many, many years is the following:
Tenants came in on a Friday to sign their rental agreement, pick up these keys, etc., and, as I always do, I told them that if anything didn't work, they should let me know - if it is something that's an emergency (like fire coming out of the stove when you turn it on) they should
call me right away - other, minor things should be put on a list so my handyman can fix several things at one time....Fine, off they went, happy little "tenants"......the following Tuesday, they called the office and said "the stove doesn't work at all and the air conditioner (wall unit) only works a little"......Well, like the wonderful "landlord"
that I am, I sent a repairman out there right away, and, GUESS WHAT????? They hadn't even had the electric turned on in their name yet!!!!!!!!!!! The repairman was laughing his head off when he called me - said the reason they must have thought the air conditioner was working a "little" was because there was a breeze blowing through it*****Then, they called back Thursday and asked when the repairman was coming to fix the stove and air conditioner...I asked them when they were going to get their electric turned on - and they said tomorrow. I said, "well your stove and air conditioner might work then"!!!!!
Some of my tenants are SO intelligent that they call up and say........."my kitchen doesn't work", , , , LOL (guess they don't realize the "kitchen" is a place - not a thing) - - then I have to "draaaaaaaag" out of them "WHAT" in the kitchen does not work * * *
