Do I
dare say I’m a designer?
Designing a
quilt can take many forms, and I don’t hold myself up as a great quilt designer,
but I do design all my own quilts and the idea of this exercise is to explain to
you how I actually do that.
I am fashion
designer and have had to design some 200 garments a year..........!!!
I now find
designing quilts is less stressful— except that I have to make the quilt up and
write and test the directions.........so I often I end up with 3 or 4
quilts.........
In garment
design, I had a patternmaker and sewer .........!!!! Now I need the help of the
Quilt Angels.
Designing is
a personal expression........ but
as I tell my students......
IT’S NOT RIGHT,
NOT WRONG, BUT DIFFERENT. !!!!!!!
In this
Lecture/workshop we explore the dynamics and mathematical clues to designing a
well balanced quilt.
This is a
popular lecture and workshop and it gives students the confidence to go just
that one step further and experiment with design for
themselves.
The motto of this class is
“Medallion
madness”
