Rory came to our Kennel at the age of 10 months. We must say that first he wasn't a rather easy dog to handle, especially towards the male type of dogs. But after a good hard training period he turned around completely. Not only his character changed but also he matured a lot in that time. As a youngster he won many first prices at shows but every time he got the remark that he wasn't mature enough.

In the mean time he started doing agility, herding sheep and also search and rescue work. But we noticed that Rory was more the type of dog which wanted to do the thinking all by himself during his work. So we stopped doing agility and went on with herding and search and rescue work, for which he passed the official obedience test (called VZH) on

13-11-1994.

1995 and 1996 were, what you can call, his years. He started to win at shows more often and won one CAC after the other. And his highlights those years were him winning the European Championship title and the Winner in Amsterdam (beating the 3 times World Champion Ch. Borderbreeze Lionheart). He also became Dutch and Luxemburg Sh. Ch..

Not only his show career improved but also his working skills. He has done some trials in the beginner’s class, which he has done very well. But the one and only reason we did those trails was to train for the officially FCI working-test, which he passed on 19-04-'97. After a long discussion with the Belgium and Dutch Kennel Clubs (because we did the test in Belgium) and a minimum of 4 CACIB's from 3 different countries, he became International Champion on 01-10-1999. He also became Belgium Sh. Ch. that same year, because for Belgium Show Champion you have to have done this working test. After winning so many title we took him out of the show-ring and only concentrated on working with him. But he will be back at Crufts. He is not only a good quality show-dog, but also one of the top stud-dogs in the Netherlands. He has produced many Show Champions and first prizewinners and if everything goes all right he too will be the father of a International Champion (Full Champion). From Borders Home Ciri has also passed the same working test as Rory and is already Belgium Sh. Ch. and is now trying to gain her last CACIB's for International Champion.
