Cronk (abt 1937)

Parham- A very pleasant reunion in honor of the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Mereau Cronk of Parham was held at Long Lake (Ontario, Canada) by friends and relatives, when about one hundred guests attended, among whom was Freeborn Cronk of Mountain Grove, who was celebrating his 79th birthday anniversary.

Mereau Cronk is 78 years of age and is one of the pioneers of this district. He was twice married, one son Harvey lives in Exshaw, Alta., and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Kirkham of Parham, and George at home; one daughter predeceased him 30 years ago. Mr. and MRs. Cronk have six grandchildren. They attended the Orange Celebration at Ganangue on July 12.

Mr. Cronk has been a reader of The Whig=Standard for nearly fifty years. He is a member of Mayflower Lodge No. 297, I.O.O.F., and a Liberal in politics.

The family presented Mr. and Mrs. Cronk with a rocking chair and bed lamp. Relatives and friends presented them with a fancy blanket, bedroom rug, silver pie dish and pie server, and a lovely family Bible and purse of money.

At the close of the gathering all joined in singing "Silver Threads Amoung the Gold".
