Gloomy night
You get up from the table, paid for the burger you didn't eat. Headed out into the night for home flashlight grasped tight in your hand. About a block away from the bar, you see a shadow in the path. You switch on the light and flashed it at the shadow, You think you hear a slight moan. The mist takes the form of a man you shine your light onto him… You gasped at the wonder of this angelic face. "Who are you, and what do you want"? You ask. You know who I am, and what I want, I want to hold you". His voice almost hypnotic. "I love you." He steps closer to you. NO! Comes your answer "you don't no love. Get away from me!" and you shine the light into his face. A scream of pain comes from his lips and his face changed to show his true self. Ugly and distorted is his true look. In a moment he was gone chase away by the light.
Back home in your apartment you take the note from your purse sit down and read it slowly. It gives a list of things you will need, thirteen candles of sage scent. And eye of newt and plain old lye, a twig of this and a pinch of that. You wonder where you're going to find all of that. The letter goes on to tell you "On All Hollows Eve his powers reach their peak, on hallowed ground you must make your stand. Draw the circle in the center of the ground sprinkle the lye around and place the twelve candles round. In the center you must stand the thirteenth candle in your hand and burn the twig of this and a pinch of that in the flame chanting the word I give below. The letter went on to warn: "Do not chant the word out loud, only in your mind, till you know them. The only time they can be uttered aloud is on all hollows eve."
"Oh my." You say. "Why me? Of all the people across the lands and sea." The week goes by so fast the leaves of the tree turn a bright red and its Holloween. A weekend no work to do so the day is spent planning your defense. Night time seem to come faster today then any other day of the year, soon the trick or treaters come banging on your door, candy and treats are handed out and a new feature this year. Flashlights to all. Ten-o clock and time to leave. Outside you go noticing that the night is heavy with mist and fog and you find your way to the church, and the graveyard where you must make your stand in. A stick in hand you draw a circle on the ground sprinkle the lye and placing the scented candles around. Now you must wait. But here and there you see shadows darting amongst the trees. Soon out steps a figure from the dense wooded area. His steps bearly rustling the leaves. Slowly he walks up to the edge of the circle looks at you and speaks.
