He was married to Mary Mitchell on 27 Aug 1801 in , Bedford Co, BA. Mary Mitchell was born on 6 Feb 1778. She died on 3 Jul 1859 in Union Hall, Franklin Co, VA. Gabriel Mattox and Mary Mitchell had the following children:
