Time for another update!
We called our social worker, mainly to offer our congratulations - she's "succumbed to the pressure", and decided to adopt a little girl of her own!! (Well, OK, her little girl will come from Guatemala, not China, but still-!) And she told us that the latest group Bethany sent over to China only had to wait NINE months (not the eighteen we were first told) for referrals! That means we could get OUR referral next month!

I think we gotta get ready - what do you think?! Time to play musical bedrooms - this old two-bedroom house was slated to become a three-bedroom; but we have a lot of work to do yet. Well, a deadline is a powerful motivator - and now we know what WE'll be doing over the Memorial-Day weekend!: store this, paint that, move lots and lots of furniture...
I tell you, it's amazing what you find when you start moving old boxes - and even more amazing when you OPEN them! Some of this stuff, I swear, hasn't seen daylight for five years! Well, it'll be a lot less cluttered house, when we get home!
Sure wish we could stand over their shoulders, at the China Central Adoption Agency in Beijing, and, y'know, point...
