Frederick Boss or Bosso from W. Palm Beach handled your adoption. I am the stepmother of your half-brother and sister. Your grandfather and your mother died before 45 of a failry rare blood clotting disorder that you may be carrying. The disorder is not gender related, and blood specialists have stated that you have a 50/50 chance of having it. Both of my step children do. The disease is called Protein C, Protein S clotting deficiency. Basically it causes the formation of blood clots too easily. The missing proteins are part of approximately 15 or so needed to make blood clot correctly.My stepson almsot died twice in the past year, throwing clots to his lungs and heart. He is 23 and otherwise in excellent health. This hit us out of the blue, and thankfully he is still alive. He now takes Coumadin every day for the rest of his life, and can otherwise expect to live normally, though he will need to be careful of bruises or injuries.There are only about ten places in the U.S. that can do the tests necessary to test for this disorder, so you may have to do some calling around to find the right type of doctor. We would up using an oncologist who specialized in blood disorders. This is not a form of cancer. Its just that in our area, this fellow was the only one who knew how to diagnose this problem.
