Dear birthmother,
Today is my birthday... and I know that you know. You must be thinking about me.... and I will spend the day thinking about you. I was happy that you called the agency to ask how I was doing... but I pray you will find the courage to decide to contact me.... even if only a letter. I understand your desire for privacy and I don't want to invade... I just want to KNOW you.... know ABOUT you... know about ME and the part of me that you are. All I know is that you are somewhere in Florida today... and I am here in Georgia and my heart is breaking with the desire that I have every year on this day... to hear the story of how my life began and to meet the wonderful woman who cared so much to worry about me... I know about the booties you had made for me, and how you came to the hospital every day for almost a month because you
worried about me being a premie when you could have just gone back home.
Thank you for what you did then and please, please, please... can we talk?
Love, Kelly
