OUR
FISHING PAGE
This has been in the making for quite some time
and I have finally got my favorite links together to
share with you other fishermen. I have links to other
personal home pages of other fishermen and other
links related to fishing. I hope that you enjoy your
visit here and hope you get the greatest
catch of the day.
Some
things to know about our favorite fishing
hole
known as the Fort Peck Reservoir.
Fort
Peck Reservoir is a quarter million acre lake
formed
by a large earth filled dam on the
Missouri
River. The shoreline extends more than
1700
miles with many bays and points.
The
lake provides excellent boating and fishing
opportunities
and is a great wayto view
the
Charles M. Russell Nat. Wildlife Refuge.
Numerous
species of fish abound
in
the lake including walleye, sauger, northern pike,
small-mouth
bass, perch, ling cod,lake trout
and
chinook salmon. Many record fish are caught on
the
lake each year. Most fish are caught by boat or
through
the ice during winter.
Fishing
in Fort Peck Lake and the Missouri River
below
Fort Peck Dam is excellent at certain times
of
the year. The best fishing for lake trout is after
ice-out
in the spring until June and again in the fall
from
October until freeze-up. Walleye and sauger
fishing
can be good during the summer in the colder,
deeper
waters. The most abundant game fish caught
in
the lake are walleye, sauger, lake trout, northern
pike,
and yellow perch. Several other warm and cold
water
species are caught at irregular intervals.

are some pictures of the Fort Peck Dam!
