MY PRAYER FOR YOU

When you're lonely, I pray you feel God's love.
When you're down, I pray God gives you joy.
When you're troubled, I pray you know God's peace.
When things are complicated, I pray you find simple beauty.
When things are chaotic, I pray you are given innner silence.
When things look empty, I pray you know hope in Jesus.

 FINGER PRAYER

     1. Your thumb is nearest to you.  So begin your prayers by
praying for  those closest to you.  They are the easiest to
remember.  To pray for our  loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis
once said, a "sweet  duty".

       2. The next finger is the pointing finger.  Pray for those who
teach,  instruct and heal.  This includes teachers, doctors,
and ministers. They  need support and wisdom in pointing
others in the right direction.  Keep  them in your prayers.

      3. The next finger is the tallest finger.  It reminds us of our
leaders.   Pray for the president, leaders in business and
industry, andadministrators.  These people shape our nation
and guide public opinion.  They need God's guidance.

        4. The fourth finger is our ring finger.  Surprising to many is
the fact  that this is our weakest finger; as any piano
teacher will testify.  It  should remind us to pray for those
who are weak, in troubleor in  pain.   They need your prayers
day and night.  You cannot pray too much for them

      5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of
all.  Which  is where we should place ourselves in relation
to God and others.  As the  Bible says, "the least shall be
the greatest among you."Your pinky  should remind you
to pray for yourself.

By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own
needs  will be put into proper perspective and you will be able
to pray for yourself more effectively.

God Can

When you feel unlovable, unworthy and unclean,
when you think that no one can heal you,
Remember, Friend,
God Can.

When you think that you are unforgivable
for your guilt and your shame
Remember, Friend,
God Can.

When you think that all is hidden
and no one can see within
Remember, Friend,
God Can.

And when you have reached the bottom
And you think that no one can hear
Remember my dear Friend
God Can.

And when you think that no one can love
the real person deep inside of you
Remember my dear Friend,
God Does.

On The Wings Of Prayer

Just close your Eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.

Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let him hold you secure in his love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved.

But God only ask us to do our best,
Then he will take over and finish the rest.

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you.

And that is the door to The House of Prayer,
And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.

And The House of Prayer is no further away,
Than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.

. For the heart is a temple when God is there,
As we place ourselves in his loving care.

And he hears every prayer and answers each one,
When we Pray in His name - Thy will be done.

The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear,
Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.

THE PRAYING HANDS
Helen Steiner Rice

The "Praying Hands" are much, much more than
just a work of art,
They are the "soul creation"of a deeply thankful heart.

They are a Priceless Masterpiece that love alone could paint,
And they reveal the selflessness of an unheralded saint.

These hands so scarred and toilworn,
tell the story of a man who sacrificed his talent
in accordance of God's Plan.

For in God's Plan are many things man cannot understand,
But we must trust God's judgment and be guided by His Hand.

Sometimes He asks us to give up our dreams of happiness,
Sometimes we must forego our hopes of fortune and success.

Not all of us can triumph or rise to heights of fame,
And many times What Should Be Ours, goes to Another Name.

But he who makes a sacrifice, so another may succeed,
Is indeed a true disciple of our blessed Savior's creed.

For when we "give ourselves away" in sacrifice and love,
We are "laying up rich treasure" in God's kingdom up above.

And hidden in gnarled, toilworn hands is the truest Art of Living,
Achieved alone by those who've learned the "Victory of Giving".

For any sacrifice on earth, made in the dear Lord's name,
Assures the giver of a place in Heaven's Hall of Fame.

And who say with certainty Where the Greatest Talent Lies,
Or who Will Be the Greatest In Our Heavenly Father's Eyes!

NO TIME

I knelt down to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.

I had to hurry and get to work,
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer
And jumped up off my knees.

My Christian duty was now done and
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.

No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I feared.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry.

No time to give to souls in need
But now was my time to die.

I went before the Lord
I stood with downcast eyes.

For in His hands, God held a book
It was the Book of Life.

God looked into His book and said,
"Your name I cannot find.

I once was going to write it down,
But never found the time."
