~ Helping Hands ~
The information found
in Hebrew Roots is gathered from many sources. Much of
it comes from reading and studying both the Scriptures and other
books and writings. However, often times it is the word of a
friend or acquaintance that triggers an idea, or a new way of
looking at something.
Such was the case with the lead article
of this issue. Some close friends attended a service where a
speaker talked about how the oil for the lamps in the Parable
of the Ten Virgins represents Torah. His point was
a real eye opener. It led us to take a serious look at the entire
parable, and low and behold, not only did we determine that the
gentleman was correct, but in the process we uncovered a number
of other interesting analogies to the other items discussed in
the parable. Our heartfelt thanks go out to this person, and to
our friends for sharing the information with us.
One specific detail, in that same
article, came from a person we can identify. That man is Bill
Sansone. Recently Bill called us, and in the course of our
conversation we shared with him what we were writing about on the
ten virgins parable. He, in turn, shared with us the information
about how the Greek word arrhabon is used today to
identify the engagement ring. That was a startling (and
wonderful) bit of information and is another confirmation
concerning our marriage relationship with Yeshua.
By the way, Bill has been producing
weekly Torah studies that follow the prescribed readings
and is putting them out in E-mail form. If you are on the
Internet, you can receive them by sending an E-mail request to
Bill Sansone. His email address is: BSansone@aol.com.

~ Walk the Walk ~
One Chassid said
to another:
"Have you come
to the Rebbe
to hear him
teach Torah?"
"No, I have come
to watch him
tie his shoelaces.
From his life
I will come
to understand
living."
