The sad intelligence was conveyed here by telegram on Monday that Mrs. Malvina Ward Hansen, died at her new home near Anadarko, OK, on Sunday evening, and that the remains would be shipped here on Wednesday for burial. Only a few weeks ago, Mrs. Hansen and the children joined the husband and father in Oklahoma, where they expected to make their home on a farm which they had bought in the newly settled country. She had not been in robust health, and news of her illness had been brought back to her many friends here, arousing the greatest apprehension. On Wednesday a delegation consisting of Workmen and Degree of Honor lodges, and numerous friends, met the train bearing the remains and stricken family here; the procession went to the Presbyterian church, where Rev. Parker conducted a short, but impressive service, and the remains were laid to rest in the Table Rock cemetery, the Degree of Honor assisting in the services at the grave. The deceased was about 36 yers of age and was united in marriage to Albert F. Hansen in 1897, one child being born to them; she leaves a husband, child, two step-children, a mother and brother here and a large number of friends to mourn her loss. Before her marriage she had been a successful teacher, and taught two years in our public schools, and he the esteem of all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a tender, loving mother, and an earnest, christion woman. The heart-felt sympathy of the entire community goes out to the stricken family in their sorrow and bereavement.
