ANGEL BISCUITS

1 pkg dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/8 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk

Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. Whisk together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk and yeast mixture until well blended. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead lightly. Roll and cut out with biscuit cutter and place in a greased pan. Allow to rise slightly and bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned.
