William Michael Wiley was born in Springfield, Virginia. On December 26, 1854, he married Mary E. Miller, with whom he had two children. Unfortunately, Mary appears to have died during childbirth.
Mary Louise Craig, born in Paris, Illinois, was William's second wife, and they were married on January 23, 1863 in Rock Bluffs, Nebraska. They were the parents of an astounding 14 children--5 sons and 9 daughters--including my 2nd great-grandmother, Sarah Florence Wiley. They settled in Cass County, Nebraska and were considered pioneers who witnessed the taming of the wild west.
