I basically got this idea while watching
the "prequel" movie for Babylon 5, "In The
Beginning". Where an Emperor Londo Mollari tells the story
behind the Earth-Minbari War and the eventual Babylon Project.
And I thought back to an ep in the Aladdin TV series, titled
"Bad Mood Rising"; where Princess Jasmine started to
tell an young king stories. And for some reason, everything
started to fall into place from there. Just from the speech Londo
gave them: "A story about great deeds, about armies of
light and soldiers of darkness. About the places where they lived
and fought and loved and died. About great empires and terrible
mistakes. A true story."
Taking a cue from that, I started to work on the idea. And I had some personal fun with the idea; making Agrabah this "Beacon of Light". And for whatever reason, I find myself doing that easily with Ariel's Atlantica and Belle's Enchanted Castle. (I call it The Disney Trinity of Epic Storylines *LOL*) I liked the idea of posting Moze as the "dark forces" in this one, surrounded by fire. The entire pose and expression just made it even more fun for me to play around. And it reminded me of a famious (to me, at least) Kosh line. Where someone asked him how it will end. And he just replies, in anger, "In Fire!"
There were other things I wanted to do with this pic. Mostly by making an "older" Jasmine, with gray hairs. But it did not work out quite right for me, so I cut that idea out. In retrospect, I think I should've tried harder on that idea. One thing I did change was the background behind Jasmine. Originally, it was Agrabah at night. But it clashed too much with the "fire" motiff on both sides. And since I've already did more then a few pics of Jasmine in front of Agrabah, I thought it was time for a change in pace. SOme people might think that's a shaft of light or just something I've overlooked. Acutally, it's a set of double-doors opening.
