John rushed over to stare at the body of the policeman. He was not bleeding, but he had been shot! He was quite clearly dead, and there should have been blood seeping from the wound.
John stripped the uniform top from his fallen comrade and examined the body. It was clearly not human! The policeman was a robot; a very sophisticated one, to be sure, but a robot nonetheless.
The question was, who had sent him? What was going on? The author knew that this was a rubbish plot twist, but to be frank, he was quite bored already with writing this chapter and he wasn't sure if he'd ever write another one. That was why he didn't put a link to the next chapter at the bottom of the page, knowing that if he did actually do more chapters, he could always come back and add a link to this one. With that in mind, he finished writing the chapter and went off to phone his friend, which he thought was a much more worthwhile pursuit.
