God Is Sovereign!!

I don't know how you picture God. When I
was young, I thought of Him as a kindly grandfather figure who could
help me if he were summoned and wanted to get involved. I would usually
try to bargain with Him. If you do this, then I'll do ___ for the rest
of my life. Of course, I never held up my end of the bargain and don't
remember feeling that any of my specific prayers were answered.
After I began studying the Bible and
reading books by spiritual giants, my picture of God changed
drastically. Once I understood who God really was, I understood why He
deserved to be worshipped! My God was simply too small. The true God
cannot be contained, controlled, or cajoled. He created the heavens, the
earth, and all they contain. He sustains all of life. He has absolute
control over all of creation. Yet, He is no despot. He wants all of His
creatures to know Him, and He wants what is best for each of us.
Many of you have probably come to my
website because of health problems. You may wonder why an all-powerful
God allows suffering. If He is able to control all of Creation, why
doesn't He take your pain away? Well, dear friend, I know He is capable
of doing that very thing. However, I know He sometimes chooses to allow
circumstances to teach us valuable lessons. If my whole life
hadn't fallen apart, I would never have had a personal relationship with
Christ. Now that I know and love Him, I would never trade my pain and
suffering for my former life. My heart has been healed, and I desire
that more than any physical healing. My continued pain keeps me close to
my Lord, because I need His encouragement daily. Nothing goes right
without Him.
Our God reigns! His most awesome act was
to send His Son to die on the cross, so that we might live. He loves His
creation and has provided the means for each of us to spend eternity
with Him. Won't you take advantage of that opportunity today? If the
answer is "yes," please go to: How
You Can Be Saved right
now.
Aren't you comforted by the fact that God
controls the universe? No one has a power over you that cannot be
nullified by God. No one can cause you to behave in an ungodly way. You
have a Provider and Protector who is bigger than all of your enemies! I
would like to share some verses with you from the Bible and hope you
will enjoy meditating on each of them, especially when you need
spiritual uplifting. I also encourage you to read your Bible daily
and to find a good book about the attributes of God, so that your view
of God may never again be too small.
Psalm 121
I Will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From whence shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in From this time
forth and forever.
PSALM 27
A psalm of David
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The LORD protects me from danger—
so why should I tremble?
2When evil people come to destroy me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will know no fear.
Even if they attack me,
I remain confident.
4 The one thing I ask of the LORD—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
6 Then I will hold my head high,
above my enemies who surround me.
At his Tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the LORD with music.
7 Listen to my pleading, O LORD.
Be merciful and answer me!
8 My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
9 Do not hide yourself from me.
Do not reject your servant in anger.
You have always been my helper.
Don’t leave me now; don’t abandon me,
O God of my salvation!
10 Even if my father and mother abandon me,
the LORD will hold me close.
11 Teach me how to live, O LORD.
Lead me along the path of honesty,
for my enemies are waiting for me to fall.
12 Do not let me fall into their hands.
For they accuse me of things I’ve never done
and breathe out violence against me.
13 Yet I am confident that I will see the LORD’s goodness
while I am here in the land of the living.
14 Wait patiently for the LORD.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.
Do you not know? Have you not
heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.
He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases
power.
Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble
badly,
Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount
up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:28-31
"For I know the plans
that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for
welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to
you.
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your
heart."
Jeremiah 29:11-13
And I heard, as it were, the
voice of a great multitude
and as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty peals of
thunder, saying,
"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty,
reigns.
