Latley in the media, everybody has been buzzying on the issue of gay marage. but what i dont see, is why it is such an issue. who is the government to say if u really love somebody or not? Almost all that opose the new concept of love say that it goes against god, or that it is destroying the santicty of marrage. Thats bull shit. Now, as i sit here in the heat of the bible belt, i ask my self what the hell happened to the seperation of church and state. Correct me if im wrong, but does this countrys constution state that everyone has religous freedom? Anyone whos spent 5 min. in a history class should be able to tell you that the reason the pilgrams even looked for a new place to live was so they could stop being told what to belive. By banning gay marage for religous purposes, we are compleatly undermining the whole concept of freedom. Is america not free? is this not the very think we send our kids to die to protect, yet we fight to give up at home? The second reason against this amendment is that it is going to distroy the santicty of marrage. Welp, i hate to be the one to break the news, but it died a long time agao. It started with King Henery the IIIV killing off his wives and has kept going to this day when Britney Spears longest marage has lasted a whopping 2 weeks. I also find it an intresting fact that the very people who have a problem with it, are the ones who are infact helping destory it. The states with the top 10 devorce rates all voted for Bush, and gosh golly jeepers, the 10 states with the lowest devorce rates all voted for Kerry. uh ohh, someones being a hypocrit. Kids already say stuff like "moms house" and "dads house" everyday. How much worse would it be to refer to something as "both of my dads house?" In this land that was supposidly created "for the people, by the people" why are we turning it into "for a % of people, by the wealthy?" |
