Starlock and Armand 10-09-00
Walking away from the Jedi Council chambers, both Starlock and Armand's minds reel with the news and mission they have just been given. The news... Master Qui-Gon Jinn, slayed at the hands of a Sith warrior.
"The Sith have returned," were Master Windu's grim words. "It should be understood that this news, while shocking, should be held close to one's mouth. If we revealed this to the public at this time it could cause panic. That is something we can not afford."
Keeping as calm as possible, Armand and Starlock had digested the news quickly.
Master Windu broke the momentary silence.
"We can also not afford to allow the revival of the Sith to go unchecked." Pressing a few keys on his datapad, Windu motioned all eyes towards a holographic image on the far wall. The charted universe appeared, Coruscant it's center point, and began moving quickly to what must have been the far outer rim then halted with a small red dot taking center.
"Depicted in many artistic renderings from a very localized race," Master Windu points to another hologram, this one in front of him, "we have discovered what may be an ancient Sith artifact."
With scale readings on the small hologram, it was obvious that the artifact was quite large. A cylinder with odd glyphs cut into a spiraling pattern that ended abruptly in a sharp point at it's top.
"We do not know the use of this artifact, or if it even has a use. We also have not been able to decipher the glyphs. We do know that it matches sketches and paintings cataloged in our files from the old Sith battles. This artifact was forgoten until we recently began studying more about the Sith," Master Windu paused, looked at Starlock and Armand, then finished, "due to our recent encounter with the Sith."
"We don't believe there to be any considerable danger, so we have elected to send you two," he pointed at them for emphasis, "to investigate and report what you can learn of this artifact."
"As I had mentioned, a of race of humanoids, the Divruub, have released a few artistic displays that have been on the market for half a century. In all of these renditions it is obvious that they worship this artifact as some sort of idol."
To his right, Master Yoda had interupted.
"Little know we of this race. Use the force they may. They may not. Learn of this and more, you will."
Master Yoda had told them of thier transportation to the last recorded whereabouts of the Divruub, the planet Ithaqua, and wished them well before dismisal.
"To yourselves you will keep this." Were Master Yoda's final words to them.
Starlock and Armand need to go gather thier few personal items and give farewells to friends or family before departure in the morning.
