You've trained all your life for this. In the monestary you've spent every waking moment training your body, not in actual strength or expertice, but in honing your spiritual self to prepare for the dungeon. You feel a slight regret leaving the monestary, your master, your brothers. Yet you have your pet, who follows faithfully. You flex your hand. Your parting gifts are stiff from the tannery. You wave goodbye. Master had given them to you himself, and given them his blessing. Along with the gloves, a nice robe was found for you. You loaded your one spell book and you found that the room was bare, no longer yours. The kitchen supplied you with plenty of vitals, and the groundskeeper had found some things for you. Well packed, and well on your way, you have a good feeling.

The Monk

By far the most unbalanced class in Slash'em, the monk's only downside is his vegetarian lifestyle. Even that, however, is offset in his starting package. He starts out with plenty of food. As his levels rise he becomes resistant to everything, aware of everything, and as he enhances his martial arts, he's more potent then any sword.
It is consevable that it might "possibly" be balanced if he started with -NO- food at all, and therefore possesing a weakness.
While I'm tempted to say that not having a weapon is a weakness, weapons in general are a pain. Enchanting them, keeping them from rusting, keeping them from breaking, not to mention cursed weapons! Simply going without is a good alternitive. Although that scroll of destroy armor REALLY bites. The monk even comes with potions of healing and safty magic!

Liquid leap out of here!
