Yup it'll be about time.

uh, ok. I'm not actually writing right now, but some basics to help you on you way:
If you read the last page, you (possibly) get my idea of dimesions. now it might just be that, nothing more then a different way of looking at things. but what the hell.

Now imagine our universe.

Are you really imagining all of existance? The whole of the universe? the world, planets, solar systems, galaxies, the whole enchilada?.......... ok then.
Now imagine all of existance as on a timeline. Remember back to school days and they made you fill out those annoying sheets? Yeah it's like that. All of existance portrayed by a single line. This is time. ignoreing everything else, time is a single dimension, and can be shown along something that we would consider 1d, like a line on a paper.

So think of a 2d universe. and don't think of any video game no matter how crappy the graphics were. In a true 2d world mario couldn't cross over his legs when he walked. So think real REAL 2d. Now imagine that moving perpendicular to it's surface, and as it moves it changes slowly.
What it's doing is moving into the 3rd dimesion, and it would see the 3rd as we see time. You can say that it IS a 3d thing because it does't cease to be from where it came, so it does make a 3d object.

Imagine a flat plane with a point on it. As time moves, the point moves in the shape of a circle. if you imagine it moving into the 3rd, a spiral would be formed.
This can also be applied to the first dim, think of those lie detectores with the needles moving back and forth, a 2d sheet is formed from it.

So all this can be applied to our own pittiful existance. Think of the past, your motions forever etched in, staring back through the ages.
And fate, forever set in stone, but only to be lived out and passed.



unless of course you get into TIME TRAVEL!!! Now this of course would involve the 5th dimesion (MOVING through dimesions... remember?) and if you involve the 5th that would upset the rest of the fourth (I think) and so when dealing with 5 dimesions, you get a multiverse!!! (lightning and thunder in a loud booming voice)
This is, in essence, a timeline with braches. Or rather, the branches are allready there (in the fith dimension) and time-travel would be you moving at 45 degrees to reality for a bit.

Of course, this is just one more dimension, it not like half a step over would yield an entirely diffent world (as in the show sliders). The physics of things moving sideways in reality would have to have some rules of flow or something. (now, since the 5th dimension is not overly obvious to us, it is fairly safe to say that half a meter over in reality is yet another bored geek typeing about crack-pot ideas, and since he is there, I'm not falling into his space. [sigh, ok, 2D world moving through time {actual time, not the 3rd dimension} it doesn't fall up or down because it is actually a vey long cylinder and the 3rd dimension is a mute point. It's like that with us and the 5th]) MUST... STOP... USEING... ([{these}])! Tangents BAD!

Ok, so I read a bit about special reletivity, and how everyone has thier own personal time and it is impossible to go faster then light simply by saying that you don't go any faster, but time slows down, at least to everyone else. Regardless, you still get to your destination faster. This kinda puts a wrinkle on my dimension theory. But it's fixable: the 4th dimension (or 3rd, depending on your current state) is just a little more dense in spots then others. Why speed has anything to do with this is a little beyond me as of yet though...
