Hedgehog Wheels
Looking for a SAFE, quiet, easy-to-clean wheel for your hedgehog or small animal?
Consider a bucket-style wheel. This type of wheel has been used by the hedgehog community for
a number of years and receives glowing praise for its safety and convenience. I recently
replaced my hedgehog's foam-lined, metal-runged ferret wheel with a bucket-style wheel and
would never go back. In fact, I am so impressed by the bucket-style wheels, I want to make
them available to everyone.

Advantages:
The wheel is made of sturdy HDPE and is 10-3/4" diameter and 5-1/4" deep
(more than enough room for an average size hedgehog to change direction).
All bolts and screws are
stainless steel. The rectangular base is made of 3/4", schedule
40 PVC pipe. The overall size is approximately 12" x 12" x 8".
White wheels are always available. Color availability varies. The base
will always be white. Currently available are translucent purple, translucent yellow,
translucent teal, opaque red, opaque blue and opaque black (not shown). In the picture below,
the white bucket is the standard 5-1/4" size of our wheels; the others are still in the "raw
material" stage. Please contact me for the latest

A few notes-
The single-post design may look insubstantial but we've tested it,
and it is up to the task. Click here for a brief mpeg movie of

(If your hedgie weighs more than 5 cans of Mountain
Dew, you're putting the hog back in hedgehog!)
Also- these items are hand-crafted, not factory produced. Although they will be clean and functional, they may not be mass-production perfect. In particular, the bucket material is not specifically designed to take weight in this direction and will likely deform and become slightly out-of-round, making it appear as though the wheel is mounted off-center. This will not impede the performance.
Some assembly will be required- you will need to seat the single upright into the rectangular frame, and adjust it to the angle of your choice.
